Tile Roofing
Tile installation, repair and underlayment replacement for homes across Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek and the Valley.

Tile roofing — and the layer that sits beneath it.
Tile roofs cover much of the Valley and are the most misunderstood roof we work on, because the tile isn't the layer keeping water out of your house. Whether you have a few broken pieces or a roof whose underlayment has never been touched, we inspect what sits beneath the tile and photograph it before recommending anything.

Signs your tile roof needs attention
- Water stains on ceilings despite tile that looks intact
- Multiple broken or slipped tiles across the roof
- Debris packed into valleys where water should run freely
- Underlayment visible and cracked where tile has shifted
- Loose ridge tile or deteriorated mortar along ridges and hips
- A roof old enough that the underlayment has never been touched
Straight talk
How a tile roof actually works
Concrete and clay tile act as a shield — taking the direct sun, shedding the bulk of the rain, and protecting what's underneath from impact and UV.
Beneath the tile sits the underlayment, a waterproof membrane over the decking. Rain that blows under tile during a monsoon lands on that membrane and gets carried off the roof. It's the layer actually doing the waterproofing.
That membrane bakes under the tile for years until it turns brittle and stops carrying water. At that point the roof leaks even though every tile is intact — which is why counting broken tiles tells you almost nothing about whether a roof is sound.
